Bulls complete Salmons deal

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

As expected, the Bulls completed the trade Thursday morning sending John Salmons to the Milwaukee Bucks. But the compensation the Bulls receive in the deal was completely re-worked at the last minute.

Instead of getting two mostly useless aging big men in Kurt Thomas and Francisco Elson, the Bulls acquired Hakim Warrick and Joe Alexander. The Bulls also agree to send second-round picks in 2011 and 2012 to Milwaukee. Also, Milwaukee has the option of switching first-round picks with the Bulls in 2010, so long as the Bulls' pick isn't a top-10 selection.

This deal is much better for the Bulls. Alexander was a high pick and hasn't done much, but Warrick is a useful power forward and can slip into Tyrus Thomas' role should he be dealt today.
