Bulls cancel evening practice

| 4 Comments | No TrackBacks

Wednesday was supposed to be the last day of two-a-days for the Bulls, but coach Vinny Del Negro decided to cancel the evening session. Instead, the team had a longer morning practice.

"I thought the guys gave great effort for four straight days with double sessions," Del Negro said. "I just thought we'd have one long practice today, and we got a lot out of it."

Except for backup center Aaron Gray, who went down Tuesday with a stress fracture in his lower left leg, the Bulls made it through the four days of double sessions healthy.

"I feel bad for Aaron; he's had a productive summer," Del Negro said. "We hate to lose him and it would have been a great time for him to get some experience under his belt in the exhibition season. But you can't control the injuries and now he just has to condition himself and try to stay in the best shape he can."

Gray is expected to be sidelined six to eight weeks, so he's likely to miss the first month of the regular season.

So JJ, the biggest story out of the Bulls training camp so far after 1 week is Aaron Gray's injury? The backup Center or more like the 3rd or 4th Center on the team's depth chart is the headline news from all these reported double practice sessions? I mean, I understand that the Bulls have always kept their practice sessions tight-lipped to the local media for all these years, but not one newsworthy item of how any of the players, especially the projected starters, are performing in the practices? Should we take this as no news is good news or take it as a concern of what to expect? Unbelievabull, nothing ever changes with this organization....

THE BULLS ARE WAY AHEAD OF SCHEDULE, AND WITH EVERYONE IN CAMP, THE NEWS IS VERY POSITIVE, JUST WATCH THE PRE-SEASON GAMES AND YOU WILL SEE FOR YOURSELF WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT, THE BULLS ARE ON A MISSION AND WITH COACH DEL NEGRO WITH A YEAR UNDER HIS BELT, ROSE WITH A YEAR UNDER HIS BELT, THE BULLS WILL DO JUST FINE!

Edgar it makes no difference anyway. After JR calling Ben Gordon the 4th best guard on the team, how could you place Arron as 3rd or 4th string??? He might have been first in JR's world! He might have been our big free agent signing. The "UN-BELIEVA-BULLS" is a good campaign slogan for this team.

I hear ya, Keith. JR's b.s. statement is almost similar to Gar Forman's statement last May after the Bulls' season finished that their top PRIORITY in the offseason was to re-sign Ben Gordon. But of course, comments are always misinterpreted, right Keith? People say things to the media all the time that they don't mean. It's called public relations, Keith. We're just dumb diehard Bulls fans that just don't understand how it all works behind the scenes or they just think that we'll forget what was said in the end. Yes, definitely unbelieva-bull.
