Paxson's future

| 5 Comments | No TrackBacks

Nothing's official and a final decision hasn't been made from what I understand.

But sometime in the near future look for John Paxson to become president of the Bulls and hand over much of the day-to-day operations to Gar Forman, who will be elevated to the level of general manager.

The move makes too much sense not to happen. Although I haven't agreed with some of his moves, Paxson's body of work is solid and he deserves to remain with the Bulls in a high profile position. Considering the emotion he brings to the job, a president's position makes more sense for Paxson and should enable him to be a long-term member of the front office.

Forman, whose current title is director of player personnel, already handles some duties that traditionally fall to the general manager. Last summer, he handled many of the face-to-face negotiations with representatives for restricted free agents Ben Gordon and Luol Deng.

Gar? If he signed Luol Deng to that ridiculous contract, why would you want him as GM. John Paxson is already crazy for keeping these AllStar break performers. They don't play until the break comes up. Gar must be a moron if he signed Luol to a starters contract and he wouldn't start in anyone else's lineup in the league. I think that Paxson has to leave because President of Ops is just one step above and everyone one knows that Reinsdope calls all of the shots. The bulls will never make a good or productive trade that will help this team. Say goodbye to Rose when his contract comes up, his brothers will make sure he goes to a team that wants to compete.

I agree with Pratt Man on Luol Deng. Awful, awful signing. He's a role player - only thing he does well is shoot mid-range jumpers. Like Aaron Gray, he can be very effective in certain situations. Which is great for a role player. Larry Hughes probably has more trade value because his deal runs out sooner.

Thomas and Noah are going to be fine, though - I am glad there is no deal for Amare in the works. Basically, Pax did a good job with the exception of Deng. The Ben Wallace signing and D'Antoni/Collins/VDN debacle have Reisdorf's fingerprints on them so you can't blame Pax.

first of all havent the bulls given up to much now by giveing up chandler and curry for nothing. now you want to give away another player in thomas who they knew would take time to develop when they drafted him. it seems like the bulls have a bad sence of timeing in giveing up on a player thats starting to show sighnes of being a great player. they should be trying to trade deng instead of thomas. at least thomas can get the crowd excited.its like they want these boreing players.rose needs some one who is his speed exciteing and able to dunk with athority like thomas and rose also needs to have fun on the court to be happy all of these things are thomas.stop giveing up on player that when you drafted them you knew they would take time to develop. keep thomas trade deng, hughes goodin.how exciteing would this team be with tyson.curry,rose,thomas,gordin. keep thomas"

Where can I apply? Il make this team the best in the nba!!! Seriously though, the GM job is really pretty easy. Paxson just chose the wrong players(except for rose) and coaches. -I would have hired Flip Saunders- Trade for Kevin Durant and O.J. Mayo!!!
