IHSA bass fishing: Day 1 underway

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

CARLYLE, Ill.--The rain drifted off and the sun actually popped out, briefly, after takeoff this morning for Illinois' fifth state championship for high school bass fishing on Carlyle Lake.

There should be a window in the weather to fish the whole day, till 3 p.m., before more heavy weather moves back in.

Started on the button at 7 a.m. with the takeoff of Bishop McNamara and was completely underway 11 minutes later with the takeoff of Coal City. Takeoff order will be reversed tomorrow.

Lake is up several feet, but not in the parking lot. Water is stained.
