Jed Hertz talks Christmas Bird Counts and related conservation issues in his record fourth Outside appearance on ``Outside'' this afternoon.

The Kankakee birder and conservation advocate focuses on the Kankakee Valley CBC, but also touches on the Willow Slough CBC.

At the end, Hertz also makes a pitch for Douglas W. Tallamy's ``Bringing Nature Home.'' Sounds like somebody to be a guest down the road.

"Outside" airs from 4:30-5 p.m. Mondays on WKCC-FM (91.1) in Kankakee. Rebroadcasts of the show are at 12:30 p.m. on Sundays.
