Capt. Austin Adduci tells the whys and wherefores of an innovative approach to fly fishing on southern Lake Michigan, the Kankakee River and around Beaver Island this afternoon on WKCC-FM (91.1).
You would not expect a south suburban union man, well at least I would not expect it, to become a fly fisherman, but Adduci did.
It began with packs of Marlboros as a teenager. A few years ago he decided to try guiding and formed Grab Your Fly Charters, which is still evolving.
It's everything from fishing for carp from a flats boat on southern Lake Michigan to catching smallmouth bass on the Kankakee. And now fishing around Beaver Island.
"Outside" airs from 4:30-5 p.m. Mondays on WKCC-FM (91.1) in Kankakee. Rebroadcasts of the show are at 12:30 p.m. on Sundays.
