Wild of the Week: King in Oak Forest to a Cooper's hawk in Canaryville

Click here for Sunday's column, which came off two examples of what would otherwise have been two Wild of the Week.

From Julie Taylor watching a Cooper's hawk in Canayville on Chicago's South Side to George Combs finding the wonder in a story from his friend Joe Petrizzo and his Oak Forest public works crew over finding a decent Chinook salmon up Midlothian Creek.

I just found wonder in them.

Send nominations for WOTW, the occasional celebration of wild things around Chicago outdoors on Sundays on the Sun-Times outdoors page, to straycasts@sbcglobal.net.
