Radio Waves: Shannon Johnson talks Williamson County outdoors, and parallels to Kankakee County

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Shannon Johnson talks about the opportunities in the outdoors of Williamson County in southern Illinois on ``Outside'' at first this afternoon, then we move on to parallels to Kankakee County, another county with a core wild draw on I-57.

The executive director of the Williamson County Tourism Bureau lays out the draws of fishing, hunting and wildlife viewing, especially centered around Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge.

But we also touch on Southern Illinois Miners minor league baseball in Marion and Walker's Bluff, a winery in Carterville like none I have ever seen.

"Outside" airs from 4:30-5 p.m. Mondays on WKCC-FM (91.1) in Kankakee. Rebroadcasts of the show are at 12:30 p.m. on Sundays.

Laurel Soper, the web tech and digital media person for KCC, has put together the podcast system here.
