MARION, Ill.--The softwoods are already turning, the hardwoods should be in the next days or a week. So this weekend should be prime for color in southern Illinois.
I took this shot Sunday afternoon while we were doing a tour of Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge.
I am spending three days doing the stuff of a getaways in Williamson County.
Yesterday was fishing Lake of Egypt. I was worried about the high sky post frontal day, but we caught bass, including two in that 2 1/2-3 pounds.
More on that later.
Today, I am hitting Crab Orchard, then heading home.
A packed, busy time, but good fun.
