Illinois hunting: Drought of 2012 and north zone waterfowl hunting

These mallards were on the Des Plaines River last week and allowed me to get a good shot of them. With the camera.

I didn't think about the impact that level-maintained retention ponds might have.

I say this knowing it'll never happen but I'd love to see a season open for Double Crested Cormorants...or at least a ban on them roosting at Lake Renwick.
