Radio Waves: Rob Miller talks drought, our local waters & the cooling lakes

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Rob Miller talks about the drought and impact on local waters, including the cooling lakes of northeast Illinois, on ``Outside'' this afternoon.

The district fisheries biologist, who has decades of experience on the cooling lakes going back to his school days, talks the broader idea of the cooling lakes and their place in fishing and recreation in northeast Illinois.

I think we both agree that fishermen are beginning to better understand the context of being able to utilize Braidwood (above) and Heidecke lakes, the two cooling lakes within Miller's district.

The extent of the impact of the summer fish kill at Braidwood will not be more fully realized until the fall surveys are completed and analyzed.

"Outside" airs from 4:30-5 p.m. Mondays on WKCC-FM (91.1) in Kankakee. Rebroadcasts of the show are at 12:30 p.m. on Sundays.
