Don Dubin, the Hall of Fame fisherman from Lincolnwood, photographed these two geese walking up to his front door.
And he mailed the photo. I love that Dubin still mails things. Inside was a note that included: ``Enclosed is an interesting photograph of two Canada geese that came to visit my home in Lincolnwood. Perhaps, they wanted to see my fishing display?''
That could be quite possible. Dubin has a remarkable, museum-quality collection of fishing artifacts and carvings in his home.
This is one of my favorite urban/suburban wildlife photos.
WOTW is an occasional celebration of the wilds around Chicago outdoors in photos on Sundays in the outdoors page of the Sun-Times. Send nominations to straycasts@sbcglobal.net.
