Wild of the Week: Deer in water

Birder Alan Anderson surprised two deer, standing in Salt Creek last week, as they browsed on shoreline shrubs at Salt Creek Park in DuPage County.

I suspect they were standing in the water for cooling as well as ease of eating.

We are in a stretch where all mammals seek relief.
