One side benefit of doing the column was talking to Bill Possiel, president of the Natiional Forest Foundation, and finding out he thought bison could be reintroduced as soon as 2 1/2 years to Midewin, if everything goes right.

wonderful place, my son Zach has been part of the Youth Conservation Corp there for 2 years . I'd love to see the buffalo return to this part of the state.
You re correct there are more folks locally that don't it's there than do. Unfortunately that's true of many natural areas in the Kankakee River valley that are real gems.
Some day, I may run the wonderful shot I have of your son Zach, Cubs hat and all, at work at Midewin.
