That's Matt Young netting a jumbo with the neat homemade net made by his grandfather, Rich Young, who won the eighth annual Henry's perch derby on Saturday at Northerly Island.
That was the last day perch fishing was open on the Illinois waters of Lake Michigan before the hated July closure. However, remember for those with kids, during the hated July closure, perch fishing remains open for thos 15 and younger. They may keep up to 10 daily.
And the perch are in for the kids.
