Matt Kalkowski landed his first big king Friday and honored FOTW honors, partially a celebration of the ongoing spring for salmon for boaters around Chicago fishing.
The young man from Niles caught it in 110 feet of water off Chicago with a Magnum Mixed Veggie spoon on a five-color Leadcore setup.
``I guess he showed dad and his fellow workers how to catch fish,'' said Gene Kalkowski, who launches out of Evanston Harbor with his Grady-White.
