Marianne Hahn touches on many conservation topics, from Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie to the plants and animals of Pembroke Township, on "Outside" this afternoon.
Hahn is the president of Friends of the Kankakee, but we got sidetracked on so many other topics that we never really got to the Kankakee River and Friends of the Kankakee.
I enjoy interesting people, and she certainly falls in that category. I found it both wonderful and amusing that she walked into the WKCC studios with a beautiful matched pair of shed antlers she had just found in Pembroke.
And it was interesting to hear she thinks hunting has an important placement in land management.
I would just say Hahn is one of the reasons I enjoy volunteering to do "Outside," because it makes my own world expand.
"Outside" airs from 4:30-5 p.m. Mondays on WKCC-FM (91.1) in Kankakee. Rebroadcasts of the show are at 12:30 p.m. on Sundays.
