And they're off with Bishop McNamara's boat No.2 as the No. 1 boat off at the first Braidwood Lake sectional for IHSA bass fishing.
This is the first sectional at Braidwood, which replaces the former sectional held at Tampier.
It was a much anticipated change.
The bass fishing is much better at Braidwood than Tampier.
However, iBraidwood is a perched cooling lake and winds are common. Wind and fog caused a postponement on Friday. So it was rescheduled for today. I expect when the winds kick in later this morning that the tournament will be shortened.
There needs to be 2 1/2 hours for the sectional to count. They should easily get that in.
Joliet West was the first boat in the water. And the line moved quickly, so the official launch was at 7:05 a.m.
