With Illinois fisheries chief Debbie Bruce and IDNR director Marc Miller back to back on Saturday, the Tinley Park Fishing and Outdoor Show keeps building a strong case as the top outdoor show around Chicago.
I expect about 10 times more than the 16 who showed up to hear Miller at the Chicago Outdoor Sportsmen Show a couple weeks ago.
Bruce will speak at 1 p.m. Saturday with Miller following at 2:30.
The Tinley Park Fishing and Outdoor Show is Saturday-Sunday at Tinley Park High School.

Safe ice or open water, the 52nd annual Chain O' Lakes Fishing Derby and Winter Festival, sponsored by the Northern Illinois Conservation Club, will go on Saturday and Sunday. It's headquartered at the Thirsty Turtle on Channel Lake.
Considering the cold over the next few days, the south end of Channel just might have fishable ice for the event But it goes on as an event either way.
There's some $5,000 worth of prizes and such.

The Henry Decoy Show is Sunday at the Henry-Senachwine High School.
There will be free appraisals (some beautiful old birds came in last year) by Rick Sandstrom of Midwest Decoy Collectors Association, Jon Deeter of Guyette, Schmidt & Deeter, and others.

16 people?
That's kind of pathetic.
Miller should have been selling cheap reels while he was up on stage.
Maybe more would have shown up.
It was not encouraging. There will be a lot more respond at Tinley
Zach and I plan on catching both presentations. I'll look for y'all.
Out the door in a few minutes and plan to spend a good chunk of the afternoon there.
out out the thousands there, what 60 odd people thought it worth attending. very distrubing.
very distressing. very depressing
It certainly must have been frustrating for Mike as he would have had to plan and travel but for only 16 to turn up - bad show!
