Chicago outdoors: Show at Rosemont

Show promoters are scrambling to pull together the new Chicago Outdoor Sportsmen Show at the end of January at Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.

That's the time slot vacated when NMMA canceled their 2012 show planned for Rosemont.

The new show is quickly being pulled together. So far the headliner sounds like Spence Petros on the presenter side. And Grandt Rods will be one of the anchors on the exhibitor side.

Sounds like a mix of hunting, fishing, outdoors and lodges are already in place.

The focus will be family and making it family friendly, including ticket pricing, according community relations director Jonathan Sauers.

I hope it works. I think it is important to have a major outdoors show in Chicago in a central, easily accessible location, which is basically Rosemont.

Click here for the web site, which is just being set up but is the best way for those who want to make contact to participate in the show.
