Chris Young has done a good job in the State Journal-Register of following the case against Jeff Foiles, waterfowling video star; and I highly recommend reading Young's account of Foiles' sentencing yesterday.
I wanted to shout out an amen when U.S. Magistrate Judge Byron Cudmore lectured Foiles at sentencing in U.S. District Court:
"I'm a hunter, too, Mr. Foiles. Hunting is a privilege, not a right, and you have violated that privilege to a great degree."
That's right.
It's the kind of story that makes ordinary citizens lump all hunters into a rotten pile.
And I resent that from the bottom of my heart. I hope non-hunters realize that the judge spoke for the vast majority of hunters.
I was going to post a promo video for Foiles, but no.
