It only seems apt to run the Stray Cast here.
After all, this Web log is named for the Stray Cast, which has snapped off the end of the outdoors column in the Sun-Times on Wednesdays since April 2, 2003.
Here's today's:
Academics are to the $80 million the feds threw at the Asian carp issue what insect larvae are to roadkill on a hot June afternoon.

I'm a little confused by your statement Dale, Insect Lavae are very good at what they do, particularly with regard to road kill and they're ability to make that problem go away in a "Rapid Responder" manner, on the other hand we have the ever-aging Asian Carp situation and a bevy of bloated bureaucrats all vying for funds to "rectify the situation" according to their personal prescription. I think a more accurate analogy would be to say that Academics are to the $80 M the feds threw at the Asian Carp, what utters are to a Bull!
Point taken.
