Radio waves: McFarland, mushrooms & money

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Time to check in with the checkbook on "Outside" this afternoon as Joe McFarland, co-author of Edible Wild Mushrooms of Illinois & Surrounding States, discusses hunting for morels and other less-known edible mushrooms in Illinois this spring with Joel Greenberg and me.

"Outside" airs from 4:30-5 p.m. Mondays on WKCC-FM (91.1) in Kankakee. And today is the fundraising day.

For those who value the uniqueness of what "Outside" brings to the radio--I know many of you do--please show your support today.

By uniqueness, I mean such things as a whole radio show talking with McFarland on morels and our unique spring this year.

And the broader meaning of what things like gathering morels means in terms of understanding the outdoors.

Laurel Soper, the web tech and digital media person for KCC, has put together a better podcast system set up here.

There is a Facebook page for Outside with Dale Bowman and Joel Greenberg.
