A bizarre story is evolving with regard to Illinois' FOID cards.
First off, firearm owners ID cards are one of the stupider regulations on firearms.
Second, I sure hope the Illinois State Police are successful in keeping that personal information private.
The only way I can see that that release of that information would have a point is if the AP is planning on crosschecking everybody who received a hunting license to see if they have a FOID card.
Or if public figures voting to restrict guns have FOID cards themselves.
Very odd story.
On a broader level, I think it says much about personal information in 2011.
