Radio waves: "Outside" show 4, Jed Hertz

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Kankakee birder Jed Hertz talks about the final year of his 10-year project to document birds around Kankakee and the record-setting Kankakee Valley Christmas Bird Count as the guest on "Outside" radio show No. 4 this afternoon.

"Outside" airs from 4:30-5 p.m. Mondays on WKCC, a start-up public radio station in Kankakee. Click here for online listening options.

Both my co-host Joel Greenberg and I have been out with Jed over the years. His is an interesting decision to add to science with his 10-year project.

Jed is the guy I called when I found a snowy owl on the border of Kankakee and Iroquois counties five years ago, my one claim to fame in birding.

We likely will have him back to talk about the prairie at Perry Farm before the Bears come to Bourbonnais this summer.

There is a Facebook page for Outsiide with Dale Bowman and Joel Greenberg.
