The photo above was taken just before the entire contents of this fried chicken platter was devourted last fall at Penny's Cafe in Iuka.

That's the kind of food I am talking about, home cooking. Or taco stands. Or Italian beef stands. Or BBQ joints. Or ice cream shops.

The last time I posted this, I got a bunch of good suggestions.

But I have still have a couple holes in reader suggestions or my personal experience.

Particularly in far southern Illinois around Cairo, Metropolis, that area. I just don't remember anything there that sticks in my mind.

Also in the northwest corner of Illinois, Galena and that area.

Now that I think about it, the Qunicy area too.
