Chicago outdoors: Geese eating gizzard shad

Carl Vizzone posted this YouTube video of a Canada goose eating some of the dying or dead gizzard shad on Chicago's lakefront.

If you're wondering, Canada geese and mallards lean toward the vegan side. Eating fish is not typical for them.

But they learned quick to take advantage of the shad die-off.
