The Chicago Carp Classic is coming home.

Paul Pezalla, shown holding one of the all-time carp (38-2) caught in Chicago, sent word the Classic will be back this year.
About time.
After years of wandering around the country, the CCC will be Sept. 9-11 on the lakefront from Montrose to Diversey.

I am happy.
It used to be one of my favorite events in Chicago. When it started downtown on the south bank of the main stem of the Chicago River, it drew international coverage and participation.
I hope those days come back.

Very nice, there are huge carp in the lake. they put up quite a fight. I wouldn't mind seeing a major carp tourney on the Kankakee River. I've caught some monster carp there on lures over the years.
