Fish of the Week: First-time muskie

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Any fish too big to measure is worth Fish of the Week.

FOTW12-15-10rs

Young Christopher Swon caught his while muskie fishing the first time in November with some friends on Bankson Lake in southwest Michigan.

``He caught the muskie on a Rapala and it was the only one the whole weekend,'' his dad Peter said. ``The tape measure he had was only 40 inches long, and the fish was bigger than that!''

I like that way of describing a big fish.

The Willowbrook fisherman released his muskie after photos.

FOTW tops the Midwest Fishing Report on the outdoors page of the Sun-Times most Wednesdays. An extended online version appears here, usually by midnight Tuesday.
