Though November is traditionally the slowest month in Chicago fishing, Walt Gentry showed it can be otherwise on Sunday with the Fish of the Week.

The 12-year-old, who lives downtown, hauled in this steelhead from Diversey Harbor, one of a rash of steelhead to come from Diversey over the weekend.
Here is the word from his proud dad, Bill:
Attached photo is of my 12 year old son, Walt Gentry, who caught this 28 inch, 6 1/2 lb steelhead Sunday inside Diversey Harbor...we were using shrimp about 2 feet under a bobber when this beauty decided it was snack time. This was his first Trout(and a bigger one than his dad's ever caught) and he played it perfectly as it ran up and down the harbor stripping drag like it was never giving up. What a great catch at a time when the lakefront is slowing down for the winter months !!!
Never giving up, the key to successful Chicago fishing in November.
FOTW tops the Midwest Fishing Report on the outdoors page of the Sun-Times each Wednesday. An extended online version appears here, usually by midnight Tuesday. Because of prepping for deer season, I ran behind yesterday, so it is this morning.
