Mike ``Fish'' Bonadonna died far too young.

Deer hunters reported a preliminary total of 106,404 deer on opening weekend of Wisconsin's gun season, that's up 6.3 percent from last year.

Perspective is everything in deer hunting: I suspect we are going to see far better numbers for the opening three days of Illinois firearm deer season than we did last year, not that I individually contributed to that.


With even tracking snow in areas, conditions were good on Saturday for the opener of Wisconsin's nine-day gun deer season.
