Mushroom of the Week: Puffball, Daddy

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Nate Teske and his boys Mitchell (front) and Spencer picked up a bonus the opening weekend of bowhunting deer in Illinois.

Teske sent this note:

While I didn't harvest a whitetail opening weekend, I did find this beauty at Mom's farm near Beecher. The Teske boys got after it and we all partook in the mushroom feast.

That's biggest one I have received a photo of so far this fall, and it is a doozy.

I have received enough photos and tales of fall mushrooms that I have started running a fall Mushroom of the Week in the Sun-Times outdoors page on Sundays, and usually here Saturday or Sunday.
