The Richard J. Daley Memorial Sportfishing Derby gives an annual snapshot of Chicago fshing, a sort of barometer of fishing that year.
The award ceremonty for this year's winners was held at Henry's on Saturday.
Not sure what to take out of this year other than there was some big perch weighed in and Edward Buckley had a good summer at Lake Calumet.
He had the best carp (25-6, July 31), catfish (13-3, July 31) and panfish (1-5.9, Aug. 21).
Vincent Chan had the biggest perch (1-10 1/8, Monroe Harbor, May 29). Occasional fishing companion Bruce Zolna weighed in the big chinook (18-0, Lake Michigan, July 18). Leander Binversie had the big steelhead (14-14, Lake Michigan on Salukis Pride, Aug. 21). Ryan Jones had the big coho (9-1, Lake Michigan on Many Times 2, July 22).
