John Speckine of BJ Sports in St. Joseph called late yesterday to say the salmon and steelhead started coming in good on the Michigan side of Lake Michigan.
He said fish were steadily going up at the Berrien Springs Fish Ladder on the St. Joe.
Other customers were finding them up the Paw Paw to the Watervliet Dam.
It was funny he called yesterday, because the day before a Chicago fly fisherman called while he was exploring the Paw Paw looking for fish.
