Shabbona Lake: Record channel catfish

Dave Todd caught the lake record channel catfish from Shabbona Lake on Saturday.

The Shabbona man, a long-time fisherman of the lake, rented a pontoon from Lakeside and was fishing in the northeast bay with chicken liver when he caught the 35-inch cat weighing 22.75 pounds.

His cat replaces the previous lake record channel of 35..5 inches, weighing 21.1 pounds, caught in 2005.
