Lake Thunderbird: Time on the Water

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

LAKE THUNDERBIRD, Ill.--Friday looked absolutely perfect to catch a bunch of smallmouth on topwaters.

Frank Hyla of Time on the Water television show originally planned a show on that. But this ended up being the only keeper bass we caught on a topwater.

Oh, we caught dozens of bass.

I even caught the first decent largemouth (above) and even better one later.

But it was one of those days where the sandwiches and lemon bars made by Lynn, wife of cameraman Rich Josepher, were the big hit of the day.

It was the first time I have been on Lake Thunderbird, you have to own a lot to access the lake.

BTW, if looking for lakefront property, now is the time to buy here.

It's not far from Hennepin, and not far at all from Hyla's new shop, Time on the Water Outdoors in Spring Valley.

There's quite a Chicago presence there.

More later.
