Fish of the Week: Fox River flathead

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Rob Baas earns Fish of the Week honors for this fine flathead from the Fox River.

Here's the story from the Crystal Lake man:

This 46.5 pound 38" catfish was caught off my pier on the fox river south of the route hwy 176 bridge using a bluegill for bait. It was released after the photo was taken and swam away to be caught, perhaps, again on another day.

The perhaps is what makes that a mighty fine ending sentence.

FOTW tops the Midwest Fishing Report on the outdours page of the Sun-Times each Wednesday. An extended online version appears here, usually by midnight Tuesday.

I had trouble converting a file to jpeg and am obviously two days late getting this up. Thanks to the friend who did the converting.
