Asian carp: Chicago bigheads

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Something weird is going on with bighead carp in Chicago.

About 8 tonight, Spencer Miller weighed this bighead carp at Henry's Sports, Bait & Marine. {CORRECTION UPON REWEIGHING at 68.3 pounds].

It was the second monster bighead in less than hour Henry's staff weighed. One of 73 pounds was weighed about 45 minutes earlier, but those weighing it in ran off before much information could be gathered.

It is assumed the rash of bighead reports is related to a substantial fish kill that occurred Thursday at Garfield Park.

Henry's staff kept the bighead and will have IDNR staff look at it tomorrow.

Much more to come.
