It only seems apt to run the Stray Cast here.
Afterall, this Web log is named for the Stray Cast, which has snapped off the end of the outdoors column in the Sun-Times on Wednesdays since April 2, 2003.
Here's today's:
Are the guys who estimate crowds in Chicago the same ones who sanction muskie records at the National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame? I'll give the Blackhawks this: ''Chelsea Dagger'' is to ''Don't Stop Believin''' what a smallmouth bass is to a creek chub.

Either group is about as accurate as the hosts of most TV fishing shows are at guesstimating the size of the fish they catch.
Listening to either song is like pulling your minnow seine out and finding it only contains sticklebacks.
I don't know. Before I heard it five to 10 times a day, I liked ``Chelsea Dagger.'' Never liked ``Don't Stop Believin,'' even when it came out. I would like to give them a G to finish and stop.
Do you mean the Hawks or the Sox? I would have thought the Sox quit playing that a while ago.
Maybe we could pool our money and hire some trucks, Cubs and Sox both need a housecleaning.
