The Illinois Conservation Foundation is accepting nominations for the 2011 class of the Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame.

That's IDNR director Marc Miller with Denny Sands, who was honored earlier this year as part of the 2010 class.
In the release below, that note about Ron Allen being willing to help with nominations is really important. I know Allen is very serious about that, it's something special to him.

OUTDOOR HALL OF FAME ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR 2011 CLASSInductees to be announced this fall
SPRINGFIELD, IL -
Nominations are now being accepted by the Illinois Conservation Foundation (ICF) for the 2011 class of the Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame, which honors individuals who have made significant commitments to natural resource protection and outdoor recreation in Illinois."We encourage anyone in Illinois who knows of friends or associates with a passion for the outdoors to nominate them for the Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame," said Illinois Department of Natural Resources Director (IDNR) Marc Miller, the chairman of the ICF Board of Directors. "Our 2011 class of inductees will help us celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame, and they will join a very distinguished group of 34 conservation leaders."
Nominees may include those women and men who have made significant contributions or exhibited unparalleled dedication in preserving, promoting, enhancing or supporting natural resources or outdoor recreational opportunities in Illinois.
All nominations should be submitted on the official Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame nomination form, which are available at the ICF and online at www.ilcf.org. Completed nomination forms and accompanying supporting documents should be submitted no later than September 17, 2010.

The inductees selected for the Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame will be announced in November and will be honored at the annual Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame banquet to be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace beginning at 5:30 p.m.
