Ray Thompson, chair of Illini Muskies Alliance, sent word that Colby Simms earned the IMA Release Trophy for 2009 with a 51-inch muskie caught on Kinkaid.
Here's the details from Thompson:
The Illini Muskies Alliance would like to congratulate Colby Simms of the Shawnee Muskie Hunters Chapter of Muskies, Inc., for winning the annual IMA Release Trophy for 2009. The trophy is given to the angler who catches and releases the largest muskie in Illinois each year. To qualify, the angler must be a member in good standing of one of the twelve IMA member organizations. Colby captured a 51 inch muskie at Kinkaid Lake 0n March 9, 2009. The lunge was captured on a spinner and had a 24 inch girth.

I think the bigger issue here is they put poison in the lagoon which has an outlet into Lake Michigan which is where our drinking water is? How is this legal? Can someone look into this.
