Fish of the Week: Rainbow on ice

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Brian McArthur nominated his 8-year-old son Joshua for Fish of the Week for this 19-inch, 2.5-pound rainbow trout caught on Saturday.

The Tinley Park pair was ice fishing at Shadow Lakes in Wilmington. Here's the complete tale from Brain:

I have an 8 year old son that enjoys your pictures and articles on fishing. My son has been bitten by the fishing bug and he is hooked. Even when we are not catching any fish for hours he never wants to quit. The past two Saturdays we went ice fishing out in Willmington at Shadow Lakes. The first Sat. my son caught 2 small walleye, 1 perch and a small large mouth, and I didn't catch anything. This past Sat. 2-20-10 he caught 1 small walleye,1 perch,1 large mouth and a 19" 2 1/2 lb. Rainbow Trout. I am sending you a picture of this proud and happy fisherman in hopes that it might make your article. My sons name is Joshua McArthur and he is 8 years old and we live in Tinley Park IL

Good choices in fishing and hat wear too, I might add.

FOTW tops the Midwest Fishing Report on the outdours page of the Sun-Times each Wednesday. An extended online version appears here, usually by midnight Tuesday.
