America's Outdoor Show: First impressions

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

As I hit Panda Express at the Hinsdale Oasis for a late supper after ``The Rosemont Show,'' a friend called and simply askedi, ``Was it an outdoor show or a flea market?''

I think this photo near the main entrance gives the answer to the direction America's Outdoor Show is headed, back toward being an outdoor show.

I don't think I saw any flea market crap at all. That said, it's small, and, other than Plano,, factory reps don't have much presence and there really wasn't much in the way of retail tackle.

But it's a true outdoor show again, and there were people in the aisles.

It's a start in the right direction.

These are my first impressions. Over the next day or so, I will post some of the interesting stuff I found.

The show runs through Sunday at the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.
