Highland Park big: Buck of the Week: Unplugged

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

I thought Buck of the Week: Unplugged, the celebration of live big bucks around Chicago and the suburbs, was over for the year, but several good nominations came in, including this from Steve Rachman.

So we will restart it again with this one from Highland Park. I find it interesting that this is the first submission for BOTW: Unplugged from Highland Park, that northern suburb famous for its overpopulated herd.

I am glad it came.

Here's Rachman's note:

I am a big fan of your column & blog! Not sure what the criteria are for Buck Of The Week, but I thought you might appreciate these photos taken from inside my house in HP yesterday morning. Caught this big guy as he was taking in the sunrise on my patio. Suburban hunting at it's finest!

Before people get excited, and they do in that leafy suburb, the last was a joke.

But what a buck.

Having me think, ``What a buck,'' is about the only criteria for BOTW: Unplugged, which runs Sundays in the outdoors page of the Sun-Times. An extended online version is usually posted here Saturday or Sunday.
