I had been waiting for this nomination for Buck of the Week: Unplugged ever since the feature started. And John Lillig finally sent it, a photo of one of the bucks at North Park Village Nature Center on the North Side.

BOTW: Unplugged celebrates the live big bucks around Chicago and the suburbs. It runs on the outdoors page of the Sun-Times each Sunday. An extended online version appears here on Saturday or Sunday.
I consider the bucks at North Park Village Nature Center the most famous in Chicago. This ojne is not close to the biggest one either. I took photos on my cell phone this summer of at least one bigger one, mubh bigger.
Here is Lillig's story:
These photos were taken by my wife, Anna Lee, at the North Park Village Nature Center this morning while we were out on a Thanksgiving morning walk with our two children, 6 and 4.Please consider them for your buck photo feature.
This was one of three different bucks we saw in plain view during our visit to the Nature Center. We also saw several does, who were relaxing beneath the trees.

The photos really brought back memories. When we lived on the North Side, not far from the nature center, we visited often and the oldest boy took summer courses there. And we still make family outings there about once each season.
BTW, there's a couple other famous bucks I am waiting on from the city. E-mail BOTW: Unplugged nominations to outdoordb@sbcglobal.net.

Back in the late 90s when I lived up that way, I saw a 14 point buck at North Park Village.
