Oak Lawn Community High School fishing team has a good idea for other high school fishing teams or clubs in Illinois: a quality newsletter put together by the students.
To see the newsletter, go to http://www.olchs.org/assets/athletics/November%202009%20Spartan%20Fishing%20Team%20NewsLetter.pdf
The newsletter is going well enough that head fishing coach (and Oak lawn's boys track coach) Chris Kuchyt cracked: ``There may be a Spartan outdoor writer in the future!''
While I hope there is, I would suggest just about any other career path, including fishing, might offer a safer route to life stability than writing.
Last year, Illinois offered the first statewide high school bass fishing championship.
For the second championship, set for May on Carlyle Lake, the number of schools inched up to 226. Go to http://www.ihsa.org/activity/bsf/2009-10/1entry.htm
