Illinois bowhunting deer: Raining on opening day

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

With rain nearly statewide for the opening of bowhunting for deer in Illinois on Thursday, the harvest was down as expected.

They are still doing some fiddling with the system, but Paul Shelton pulled out some preliminary numbers for opening day. It was short of 1,200, compared to a little over 1,500 last year.

From here on out, he should have numbers on most Mondays for harvest through the previous weekend.

It's here.
