Fish of the Week: Opportunity knocks

| 1 Comment | No TrackBacks

Sam Schwager had his opportunity for Fish of the Week with this 10-pound plus catfish caught in Crest Hill.

FOTW tops the Midwest Fishing Report each Wednesday in the Sun-Times. I usually try to have an extended online version posted here by midnight Tuesday. Because giving a talk at Chicagoland Muskie Hunters last night, I am running late, obviously.

Here's Sam's tale:

This channel catfish was caught in my backyard in a private pond. I live in Crest Hill Illinois. She (i believe) was caught Sept. 2 2009 at approximately 7:00pm on a piece of night crawler under a bober. It measured just over 27 inches and weighing 10+ lbs (my scale stops at 10lbs but it was maxed out. I am a long time reader of the midwest fishing report and i have always wanted to be seen on fish of the week. I figure this is my oppurtunity.
