Classic day: On the Chicago lakefront

The weather was perfect for the Chicago Yachting Association Salmon Classic today out of Monroe Harbor.

More perfect for Capt. John Warren on King Seeker and his crew, who won it with this 17.3-pound laker as a kicker fish.

More importantly, for me, was enjoying a good day of fishing, conversation and food with this crew on Capt. Bill Kelly's Leprechaun. And it was quite the crew.

I couldn't resist snapping this photo of an animated discussion on where to fish in the dark before we even left Diversey Harbor. From left to right, that's Dave ``Stan'' Stamer, Andy Mikos, Kelly and Neil Goldberg.
