Todd Gessner displays two of the better crappie we caught in a couple hours this morning.

Last week, the Todd of Todd Gessner Outdoors called to see if I was up for doubling up on fishing and hunting on opening day of dove season. And I was.

So far the crappie fishing is in. We mainly talked, we had some catching up to do. But we managed to pop about a dozen crappie jigging plastics by cribs between talking.

The dove hunting will be late this afternoon. and I can't wait.

Todd figures the combo of fishing and dove hunting should last about three weeks or so, if the weather and doves cooperate.
